The role of medicines in Neighbourhood Health
The role of medicines to the success of neighbourhood health will be crucial. Medicines UK convened a roundtable of ICB leaders to discuss the implementation of neighbourhood health and how greater visibility of patent expiries could help drive quicker uptake and savings. This is particularly important as traditional channels of prescribing are evolving and therefore incentives shift.

Medicines UK is in regular dialogue with ICB leaders to understand how medicines are impacting system delivery. In our latest roundtable, we looked at the progress of neighbourhood health and how medicines was helping to shape the evolution of local delivery.
In particular we examined the benefits of greater visbility of patent expiries and how this would help support increased uptake and access of off-patent medicines which in turn can deliver substantial savings.
